WHAT TO PACK FOR A WEEKEND AWAY #TrekAmerica

For someone, packing for a weekend away is a science, for some others is just trowing stuff in a relatively large container; to me it's a little bit of both. I have to confess i used to be a hopeless overpacker, i took the saying "be prepared" way too far but there is something magical about the moment of packing, everything that usually looks useless and boring becomes suddenly incredibly interesting and necessary. Packing is one of those things in life that looks easy but it's actually a lot harder than we thought, like flipping a pancake.
With the years, i like to think i became a wiser packer, not a great one but at least not hopeless.
When i need to go away for the weekend the fist thing i do is try on a couple of outfits so that i force myself to pack just those and i avoid trowing in the suitcase just a bunch of random clothes. Planning the outfits will also prevent you from packing that sequined dress you recently purchased that would look so good with those vintage stilettos, except for the fact that you are going camping.
Once the clothes are sorted out, it's time for the cameras and yes unfortunately i used the plural. Life was so much easier before i became a blogger, my compact camera was more than enough, now if i don't have my Canon and my Nikon D3100 i don't even feel like i went on vacation and that also means packing the chargers, very important, you really don't want to find yourself in the situation where both your camera and your phone have the utility of a rock, trust me, i have been there. Next is time for the medicines, i have the most ridiculous and shameful immune system, deciding to do without would be like deciding not to carry an umbrella in London; optimistic but very stupid.
Even if i am mainly a beauty blogger, contrary to beliefs, i don't need to carry a lot of makeup with me, a few top quality products will do the trick, on the market there are so many that are so versatile you won't feel like you need much more.
No matter where i go i always have to take a book with me but you might see how unpractical it would be if i wanted to read Game of Thrones or The Lord of the rings during the trip, luckily someone really smart invented the tablet, this little technologic miracle helps me avoid carrying an unpleasantly heavy bag, so thank you whoever you are.
Last thing i need to pack is a good mood and spirit of adventure, i know, it's cheesy but i had to say it!
