Milano Fashion Week DAY 1

It's only day 1 and i am already exhausted, i don't know how some people can survive doing the whole fashion week month, it's nuts. Today i went back to Alberta Ferretti and it was one of the most chaotic fashion show i have ever worked to, everyone was shouting, panicking and screaming; i mean chill out people. The collection was stunning, as always i might add, the inspiration was nature, a magical forest. She used a lot of earthy tones and tons of different feathers. I particularly liked the semi-transparent ball gowns, so chic and ethereal. Anna Wintour had to come check out the clothes before everyone else of course, she stepped on my feet and i was about to be like "excuse you", then i lifted my head and realized who stepped on my foot so i decided to pass on the yelling. Alberta was completely out of it, i don't know if it was because of the many journalist assaulting her with questions before the runaway or simply because she wanted everything to be perfect but at one point she started to be almost rude and i didn't like that. Karma it's a bitch and didn't waste any time, while she was walking to the editor in chief or Vogue America, instead of describing the dress as made of peacock feather she said turkey, now i don't know about you but i don't find very appealing looking like a gigantic thanksgiving bird, i thought that was quite funny.
Eventually everything went the right way if you don't count the fact that we almost ripped a poor model's ear.
Tomorrow i have Blugirl and then a cocktail party with YSL where i can finally enjoy fashion week since i'm a guest and i don't have to work.

Milano Fashion Week DAY 0

Have you ever listened to a particularly catchy song while walking pretending to be on a catwalk? If your answer is no, you are probably lying to yourself. I always thought that the job of a runaway model is pretty easy, i mean it's hard to get it due to the very specific features you need to have but once you booked it all you have to do is walk up and down with pretty clothes on. Well, i couldn't have been more WRONG! Modeling is hard! Yesterday i was called last minute to work for a fashion show rehearsal at Alberta Ferretti's and Fay's, i was convinced i had to do my usual job, dressing and undressing the models making sure the outfit is right; apparently i misunderstood because i had been called to test the runaway. It has been one of those surreal experiences that never in a million years i would have thought i could have done. Alberta Ferretti herself was watching me pretending to be a model hitting the catwalk while she decided what kind of lighting was best or if the smoke machine was too strong.
The first catwalk was incredibly frightening, you have all these people staring at you, taking pictures, filming and you just simply have to ignore them and keep going; avoiding pulling faces is incredibly hard.  After the 20th time i was starting to get really tired, walking on the same platform over and over again was exhausting, to give you an idea on how many times i had to do it, we started at 7pm and wrapped up at midnight, it's was better than hitting the gym.
I realized even more how every single detail, even the most insignificant, gets planned, nothing is casual. When you sit with the audience watching the fashion show all you see are the outfits, maybe the models, you never think about how many people are involved to keep the show going, it's crazy.
Today i have to go back at Alberta Ferretti's yet again but not as a model, luckily i have to do my usual job. Models, if you are reading me, i respect the hell out of you, your job is way harder that people picture it.

Se la risposta è no, probabilmente state mentendo a voi stessi.
Modelle, se state leggendo, vi rispetto enormemente!

It's a good year to be british

I am sorry Brad Pitt, your time has come, it had to eventually, don't be sad it's over just be glad it lasted so long... you have been dethroned, you and all your american buddies because british is the new sexy.
That's right, this year, if you are british, the hottest thing you can possibly show to a girl is your passport. Girls are not falling anymore for the confident, strong, sometimes cocky american boys; all they want is a polite, smart, quite clumsy british boy.
Due to this sudden british-fever, english actors are working like crazy, i mean, just look at Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Hiddelston, these day, they are nearly everywhere, they are conquering the world one awkward smile at the time! Lucky for us, they are not just nice to look at, they are actually really talented and focused on their work.
Maybe, that's what we like about them, they are not vain; in almost every interview every time someone mentions the fact that they have been elected hottest men of the year, they blush and decline the title, they really don't want to be called "sex symbols".
Some of the biggest companies are taking advantage of this new found love for the british villains, just look at Jaguar, their Superbowl commercial "It's good to be bad" has been one of the most popular this year; i found it brilliant myself.
Because really, who wants to date the hero anymore? It's boring and overrated, us girls want the tormented villains.
It's interesting to see how personality and charm have totally beaten physical appearance, some of those british personalities are not the best looking ones but nevertheless they are considered the most attractive ones. The myth of the "Ken doll" is definitely over now. I have asked most of my girlfriends if they prefer Loki or Thor ( as the nerd i am, i had to use an example like that) and nearly 85% of them have answered Loki, that's quite interesting. The character of Loki wasn't supposed to be attractive but nevertheless it had a great success among girls, more than Chris Hemsworth, who plays Thor , ever did.
At this point, you might be wondering why i decided to write this post, well, it's because i find very fascinating the evolution of trends in pop culture and the way the marked decided to use those changes. Even among bloggers, british ones are definitely leading, you see them sitting in the front row of the most important fashion shows all over the world or hosting the hottest events.
Overall, it's a great year to be british!

NAKED 3 PALETTE REVIEW

Hey everyone, i'm finally on holidays, i almost forgot the feeling of having some free time. Of course the first thing i did as soon as i was done with finals was writing a blog post, well celebrating and then writing a blog post.
Today i would like to review for you the very famous Naked 3 by Urban Decay; this palette is the latest one of the line and the most discussed one because of the undertone of the eyeshadows. In fact differently from the 1 and 2, the palette contains mainly rose toned neutrals that unfortunately don't look good on everyone. As the owner of the Naked 1 i was very skeptical about purchasing it, if i had to chose i would have probably bought the Vice 2 instead of this palette but now that i have it, i'm so glad i do. All the eyeshadows are stunning and they look great of my light complexion.
The packaging is almost identical to the Naked 2; the palette comes with a duo-ended brush and four samples of the Urban Decay primer.
The first eyeshadow of the palette is Strange, a stunning matte beige with ,of course, a warm pink undertone, it's perfect for highlighting the inner corner and the brow-bone
Then Dust follows, very similar to Sin from the Naked one but a little bit more dusty and not as pigmented, it's not one of my favorites.
The third one is Burnout, warmer than Dust and definitely more pigmented, it's a pretty pink perfect for all over the lid.
Limit as to be of my most liked ones, it's a matte vintage pink that gives your eyes so much definition.
Buzz is the perfect rose gold, so glamorous and so pigmented, it's very shimmery, i love it.
Trick is the bronzy version of Half-baked, my all time favorite eyeshadow from Naked 1; it's a pretty gold that i use to warm up the makeup, perfect anywhere really.
Nooner is the darker version of Limit, it's matte and more on the coffe and milk color, so so pretty.
Liar is quite difficult to describe, the pigments are very fine so it feels very silky on the lid, it's a shimmery sand color with a strong pink-purply undertone, makes a great base for a neutral smoky eyes.
Factory reminds me a little bit of Toasted from Naked 1, a bronzy- rose gold, perfect for a smoky eyes or just for a wash of color on the lid.
Now, the last three eyeshadows are the least pink toned ones, they are more on the grey side and i really like them; Mugshot it's a grey undertone shimmery tope eyeshadow, Darkside is a slightly satin, almost matte, grey with a brown undertone and finally Blackheart, a dark eggplant eyeshadow with gold glitters, it's incredibly pretty.
Overall the palette has good balance of matte and shimmery eyeshadows, they are all quite pigmented and very easy to apply. If you like rose toned neutrals this is the palette for you, if you don't, i would try with the Naked 1 or 2, depending if you prefer matte or satin eyeshadows.
