DIY: Body scrub

Every time i'm out beauty shopping i see a lot of people buying expensive body scrubs and immediately think :" why? is such a waist of money!" Body scrubs are the easiest thing to do at home and the ingredients are very cheep, you probably own them already!
All you need is :
  • salt or brown sugar
  • honey
  • natural shower gel ( i like to use a Lush one)
  • a jar (12 oz)
  • a spoon
Ready? Go!

  1. If you have sensitive skin use salt, if your skin is a little bit thicker, like mine, use brown sugar. Poor the salt/sugar in the jar
  2. Add 2 table spoons of honey, it'll moisturize and soothe your skin
  3. Add a little bit of shower gel till it reaches the perfect scrub consistence which is not too runny but completely dry either.
  4. Mix all the ingredients together  and go have a nice shower
I like to prepare just the right amount for one shower, i like to make it fresh every time. Don't let it sit in the steam or the sugar/salt will melt :) Don't forget to apply your favorite moisturizer when you get out of the shower, my current one is Malibu Heat by Bath and Body Works, it just smells so good.
Enjoy

My personal winter wonderland: chapter 2

Since i noticed that you quite liked my first winter wonderland post about my headboard decorations, i decided to write a second one about the other thing i couldn't live without in the winter time. I'm talking about those glorious, amazing smelling, heart warming things that are scented candles.
Personally, i think they are such huge decoration items and they can instantly turn a banal room into a cozy environment. I prefer food scents such as donut, cupcakes frosting, red velvet cake, warm apple pie... but i also really like spicy ones and coconut water, i don't know why but i just love the smell of coconut water. My top one brand is definitely Slatkin & Co, even if unfortunately i can't get hold of it because it's not sold in Italy. So, sister, if you are reading, SEND ME SOME DAMN CANDLES! ahah just kidding :)
Therefore, if you are a candle-holic like me or you just want to try one, there are some rules to burn correctly a candle. (weird huh!)

  1. Before you light your new candle, be sure to trim the wick to one quarter inch. This will keep the flame height at a safe and optimal performance level. If the trim is too long the candle will produce smoke, although, if is too short it won't light up.
  2. When you light up a new candle ( 400g/ 14. oz) , make sure to let it burn for 2/3 hours so it won't leave the melting mark and you won't waist any wax.
  3. Some candles smell more than other when they are not burning, if you can't really smell yours when you're buying it, just swipe your finger on it and smell, as the was gets warm from the rubbing it'll start to release the scent. Just don't damage it :P

I really hope you get into candles just like me, make your room looking nice and festive. Here's some inspirations i personally followed.
Have a great day :)

 This is my room :)

Make sure to check out my new youtube video :D it's a Black Friday Haul! uiiiiii!

Fall trend: dark lips

If i had to chose my top one favorite trend for this season, it would definitely be dark lips. They are extremely easy to do, they look good on pretty much any complexion and they're very fashionable. Dark lips and in particular "dried blood" red lips give me the confidence i need to feel good about myself. Some people say that you shouldn't wear strong lipsticks in the day time but I like to rock them anyways. Of course if i'm going to university or meeting my grandparents, i go for a soft pinky lipstick, but other than that i really love the red lips.
My favorite lipstick at the moment is n.107 from the Kate Moss matte collection by Rimmel (7€), but if you are not a lipstick lover, don't you worry i also really love Max Factor's lip stain in Royal Plump or Passion Red, they last all day and you don't have to worry about eating or drinking, it won't go anywhere.
Don't forget to complete your look with a neutral eye makeup or some eyeliner if you're looking for a vintage/pin up look.
I'll live you to some inspirational pictures, i hope you find them useful.
Have a great day and star rocking this trend!

Here's some of my favorite dark lipsticks that i own myself.

I always line my lips with Debora n.12 before i apply one of those lipsticks

Book recommendation

I really enjoy reading, it's one of my favorite things to do when i have spare time. I always carry a book
in my bag; i learned to do so from Rory of the Gilmore Girls, i know, that show i super old but i still love it. I wanted to share some of my favorite books at the moment and do a little review on them, so if you happen to like them and find them interesting you can read them as well.
It might sound a little weird but i love dystopian novels, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, The Hunger Gamesare some of my top favorites, so as soon as i started to read this book i was immediately hooked. The book i want to talk you about is the Maze Runner, it's a trilogy that takes place in a post apocalyptic future  where nothing is as it used to be anymore. It's well written, very adventurous and very tricky, if you like logic games this is the book for you. I'm currently reading the second book and i like it as well, i can't wait to start the third one.  I'll post a little bit of the first book's plot so you can decide if you want to read it or not, i personally recommend it, of course.
I hope you guys give it a try, stay tuned if you want to read more book recommendation.
See y'all tomorrow :

"When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. His memory is blank. But he’s not alone. When the lift’s doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade—a large, open expanse surrounded by stone walls.
Just like Thomas, the Gladers don’t know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night they’ve closed tight. And every 30 days a new boy has been delivered in the lift.
Thomas was expected. But the next day, a girl is sent up—the first girl to ever arrive in the Glade. And more surprising yet is the message she delivers.
Thomas might be more important than he could ever guess. If only he could unlock the dark secrets buried within his mind."

Chanel holiday collection

Every year i get really excited when the holidays collection come out because i like too see what the different make up brands can create. This season, i was really impressed by the Chanel one. I have to say that i'm a huge fan of dark vampy red lips and shimmery gold eyeshadows, so this collection was made for me! I honestly like every single piece and in particular i would like to buy the beautiful burgundy nail polish with wine colored shimmers named Malice ($26.00) and the breath taking dark red matte vampy lipstick in L'impatiente ($32.50) , i think both of them are perfect for christmas time and perfectly trendy. If i had a little bit more money i would include in my shopping also the eyeshadow quad, all four eyeshadows are really pigmented ( i swatched them myself) and the colors are incredible. So if you are looking for a nice collection to treat yourself, you found the perfect one!
I'll live you with the pics from the collection and the beautiful makeup that Chanel created with the products. I forgot to tell you that , of course, everything is limited edition!

Black friday

Today since in the U.S it's black friday i was really in the mood for some crazy deals, but i had no idea i was going to have such a great luck! I went vintage shopping with my university friend, Elena, in a temporary shop that sales second hand clothes and dresses donated by different brands. Every single cent that the shop makes goesto charity. So not only you get "new" clothes in your wardrobe but you make a lot of ill children happy.
When i walked in, i could not believe my eyes, every single thing was designer brand at an unreal low price! I wanted everything! A vintage Alberta Ferretti's dress for 35€, a Prada pencil skirt for 15€, it was a fashionista's haven!
What i eventually ended up buying is even more incredible; a Gianni Versace leather jacket for 50€ which was my life time deal, i can not tell you guys how soft the leather is. A pearl white 100% silk shirt from the 80's for 25€ and a 100% silk hand painted scarf for 5€.
If any of you fashion lovers happen to be in Milano this week end you have to stop by, you will shop like Hollywood star at the H&M prices. Plus, when your shopping money goes to charity it's even better, isn't it?
To wrap up this perfect afternoon we stopped for a coffee, a slice of cake and a little chat.
I hope you had a great black friday too :) Feel free to write me in the comments down below what your biggest deal was today!

My personal winter wonderland

I am one of those winter lovers, i love everything about it; the cold weather, the hot drinks, the amazing feeling of being close to the fire place wrapped in a fuzzy blanket  drinking hot chocolate or chai tea, but most of all i love the holiday season. There is nothing more heart warming that the christmas lights and the sparkly decorations.
This year, since i moved into a new apartment, i decided to decorate my bed with worm white christmas lights and silver glittery snowflakes. I think it gives my room such a winter wonderland like look, plus i think is goes so well with my white satin bedcover. I'm so in love with it!
If you want to reproduce it in your room all you need is some christmas light, i prefer the one with the clear wire, and some sparkly decoration of your choice!
This are the pictures from my bedroom!
Enjoy :)  and happy thanksgiving to the ones who celebrate!

This is my bed, i hope you like it :)

I always have a candle burning in my room, is one is Cinnamon sugared donut form Bath & Body Works, i really love it, smells delicious.

Lazy morning? CREAM EYESHADOWS!

Everyone has those lazy mornings where doing your makeup is the last thing you want to think about.
I have a solution: Cream eyeshadows. I am a huge supporter of Mac's Paint pots and Essence's long lasting eyeshadows, they are not only super easy and quick to apply but they're also highly pigmented and they stay on all day. The colors are very rich and tridimensional so you don't need to use any other eyeshadows when you apply those. Just swipe your finger and apply them on the lid and that's it! Easy like that!
If you are a makeup beginner, i highly recommend them to you :D!

From the left: FOR FAIRIES (09), GLAMMY GOES TO... (02), CAMP ROCK(05), STARS & STORIES(04), ROCK CHIC (06)

Top favorite one, a warm shimmery pink with gold glitters in FOR FAIRIES

Essence Pigments madness

Hey everyone!
Last week i was in my hometown Bari and i went shopping with my girlfriends, of course we couln't miss the Essence counter and there, i saw what i think it is one of the best products Essence created so far. I'm talking about their pigments collection.
They come in so many different colours and combined with the eye base, the lip base or the clear nailpolish, they can be used as lipglosses, eyeshadows and nailpolishes.
They have a very fine texture and they're higly pigmented, i have to warn you ,however, they are incredibly glittery! So if you would like some sparkle for your holydays, definitley check them out!
Essence also has two limited edition pigments in the Beaking Down part 2 collection.
I'll post you pictures of the ones i got!

Dark grey with holographic glitters, Breaking Down part 2 collection in JACOB'S PROTECTION

3 of the neutral ones. From the left: SMELL THE CARAMEL a warm shimmery caramel, PURE LOVE rose gold pigment, COTTON CANDY a very light baby pink.

BROADWAY STARLET: holographic glitters mixed with a silver pigment. Perfect for a party look.

BOX OF CHOCOLATE: milk chocolate brown with silver glitters.

SRAWBERRY SHOOTHIES: dark pink with a strong red undertone.

PAPAREDZZI: very very intense fire red with no glitters.

WOW IT'S ORANGE:just like the name suggests, it's a strong matte neon orange.
