Maybelline the Rocket REVIEW

Hello lovelies, i hope you are all doing well. Today's post is a review of the new mascara by Maybelline "The rocket volume express"; as the name suggests, this product is supposed to add volume to your lashes creating a doll-like effect. I decided to give it a try because i have rarely been disappointed by their mascara and some of my favorite of all times have been theirs.
The packaging is the classic Maybelline one and the applicator is a thick plastic one. Even if my all time favorite brush is the curved one from the Colossal Volume effect also by Maybelline, i quite like this one, it goes well with the formula that is very liquid compared to other mascaras.
I really like the final effect, after two coats, but i have to point out that you need a very steady hand to apply it because it has a tendency to create lumps. I also really like the color, it's a very deep black.
Over all, in my opinion is a pretty good mascara considering the price, i can't say it changed my life but i am enjoying using it.

I hope this review was useful, if you want, leave a comment telling me your opinion about it, i would love to hear it. Until next time, bye bye!
XO

Is your foundation right for you?

Choosing the right foundation is not all about finding the perfect color match for your skin tone but is also about deciding what is the right finish for your and what level of coverage you need. This choice can be a little tricky sometimes, so today i decided to write down a table to help you make the right decision. It's not 100% precise but is useful to give you a general idea of what to go for.
I divided the skin types in 3 categories and then again in 3 levels of imperfections. I hope you find the table useful, don't be afraid to ask me any questions you want.

Sorry for the messy handwriting but i'm not used to the tablet anymore :P

Ski style

Skiing is one of my favorites sports, i love everything about the mountains and usually the only problem is what to wear. Even if you have a perfect figure, ski suits can make you look a little goofy, they are so puffy and bulky, definitely not attractive. Today, i would like to share with you some ideas on how to be fashionable skiing.  Luckily for us the days of the puffy jackets are over, on the market there are many new fabrics that provide the same warmth but that are a lot thinner and sleeker.

Ski style

As you can see from the first outfit, you can even buy ski leggings, they are thick, warm and waterproof but they are also very flattering as well. I pared them with a cute sky jacket, i love how it's cinched at the waist and i also love the colors combination. Keeping everything black but the jacket and the hat, makes it not only fun but very elegant.
I don't know what it is, but i adore wearing white on the snow, i think the second outfit looks very clean, fresh and stylish. I picked a jacket that is a little bit tighter at the waist, again to enhance the figure and a pair high-waisted snow pants. I love the pop of color created by the pink hat and the ski. I also really love the white-transpared ski boots.
As far as makeup goes, don't overdo, lip-balm is very important, you can use a tinted one if you prefer, add some water-proof mascara and you are good to go. Don't forget sunscreen!

After ski fun
We have now finished skiing and we are ready to relax in a chalet. I really like how the kitted dress looks with the  printed leggings and the oxblood accessories. I pared a faux fur coat, this particular one is from Juicy Couture, (guys, is not cool to wear real fur!) and a pair of Moon Boots. The glitter clutch gives it that unexpected feminine touch that wraps the all outfit.

I hope you liked this post, i'll see you next time
bye bye XO

Products worth the hype

On the internet there are countless beauty blogs or youtube channels, everyone gives their opinion, but there are some makeup items that are loved almost by everyone, those products are so hyped that sometimes i find myself thinking "is this really worth the hype?"
Today i would like to give you my personal opinion on some of those very popular makeup goodies.

The first one is Benefit's They are Real mascara, this product promises you the false lashes effect but there are many many other mascaras that promise just the same and they don't work at all, does this one?
The answer is YES, They are real mascara is definitely worth the hype and the price, now, don't expect miracles but it does work better than most of the others. It's very buildable but you have to apply it right.
I think that it gives his very best when you have a very natural makeup on, your eyelashes will really be the focus of attention.

The second one is Color Tattoos by Maybelline. As many of you might already know, i have a passion for cream eyeshadows, they are easy to use and very pretty. I love the Essence ones but i have to admit that the quality is not even comparable with the Color Tattoos. Those cream eyeshadows by Maybeline are just amazing! They are incredibly  pigmented and they last forever. One down side, there is a  reason why they are called "color tattoos", they stain a little bit and they are not very easy to remove but if you are looking for a long-lasting makeup these are made for you.

The third product is the very famous Bouncy blush also by Maybelline. A lot for beauty guru loved it, i get it, it's really fun to play with because of his texture but that's not a good reason to be so excited about it. I think it's not a very good blush, it's not very pigmented and i find it uncomfortable to apply. There are so many better blushes on the market for the same price.

The last one is going to be very painful for me to write because i love the brand so much but someone has to say it... Chanel's nail polishes are terrible. I know that Chanel is always one step ahead, they set the color trends for the season and their packagings are stunning but the quality of the nail polish is just poor, they don't last very long and they usually are not very pigmented, to achieve a decent look you need at least two coats. From one of the most expensive nail polishes on the market i expect more.

I hope this post was useful somehow, this is just my personal opinion, you can totally disagree with me.  If you want, tell me your thoughts about these products in the comments, i'll see you next time!

Katy Perry transformation

Good morning everyone! As some of you might know, in Italy is Carnevale right now and since i love dressing up so much i decided to share with you who i'm going to be this year.
The makeup is Katy Perry's from the music video California Gurls. I hope you guys will enjoy it;
it's actually a very easy makeup to do so if you celebrate Carnevale you can totally rock it or you can save it for Halloween.

This is the video tutorial to achieve this look :)

I'll see you next time

L'Oréal preference and Herbal essence shampoo and conditioner REVIEW

Hello everyone, sorry if i kind of neglected the blog lately but i'm just wrapping up my finals and tomorrow i will be finally over so i will focus all my free time here, i promise.
Today's post is just a quick review of two products, well actually they are three, that i used lately and that i really liked. Yesterday i decided to get rid of the ombrè effect on my hair because the blonde locks weren't really flattering on me, my hair are naturally really really dark and the difference between the blonde and the black just wasn't for me. So i decided to go back to black! I dyed my hair at home since it was a super easy monochrome color. I picked up L'Oreal Prèference in "Deep Blue 21" i love the black-blue effect of my hair, it really complements my fair cool toned skin.
I was kind of scared to dye them because i didn't want to damage them further but i was really impressed with how soft and beautiful my hair turned out to be.
The kit comes with a pair of glover, the color and the reagent, a little vial of "elixir drop of light" a liquid that added to the color makes it more glossy and intense and last but not least a full size of anti fading treatment. Now, i wasn't sure about the quality of this treatment, i wasn't sure it was going to make any difference but let me tell you, it was a really pleasant surprise; as soon as i applied it my hair became so soft and shiny and completely moisturized. Amazing! I have really long hair so i had to use half of the tube but i will definitely repurchase it. It says that if used once a week it will help preserve the color and protect your hair from fading so you won't have to color them as often; it's packed with UV filters and vitamin E.
I love how the color turned out to be, a beautiful deep black with blue undertone. If you have fair skin and blue eyes please, please please dye your hair this color, it will look amazing on you. I have brown eyes and it looks good on me but i can only imagine what a beauty this hair color would be on someone with blue eyes and fair skin.

The second product i want to talk about is Herbal Essence "Hello hydration" shampoo and conditioner for dry hair. It smells like coconut, amazing, and it's so moisturizing .  As soon as i apply the conditioner my hair feel so smooth and easy to comb. I think that Herbal Essence products have the quality of hair dresser products at the price of drugstore ones. I'm really picky when it comes to hair stuff, so if i love it, you have to trust me on this ;).
If you have long dry hair, give it a try and let me know what you think!

I hope this post was useful, i'll see you next time. Bye Bye XO
